4thCoach’s coaching comes from a pipeline that runs every time you analyze a clip: the model watches the video, 4thCoach anchors what it noticed to exact moments in the footage, and — over time — repeated findings across your clips build into patterns you can track. Nothing is hand-written; every finding traces back to the specific clip it came from.

From clip to coaching

  1. You upload a clip. The full video you record or import is the clip. Before your first analysis, 4thCoach asks you to confirm you’re the account holder and consent to AI processing. 4thCoach then sends the clip to Google’s Gemini AI model, along with any player, sport, or skill tags you’ve set.
  2. The model watches it. It identifies the sport and skill, then produces a set of findings — specific, coachable observations about what’s happening in the clip, why it matters, and a cue or drill to work on.
  3. Each finding gets anchored to a moment. 4thCoach locates the exact window in the clip a finding is about — the part of the swing, throw, or step it’s describing — and snaps a short looping moment to that window so it plays back at the right point, not just somewhere in the general vicinity. A moment is always a few seconds; a clip can be much longer.
  4. Findings build into patterns. When the same kind of finding keeps showing up across multiple clips of the same player, 4thCoach groups it into a pattern you can track over time — shown as Watching while 4thCoach is still gathering evidence, New the first time it’s confirmed as a pattern, Active while it keeps showing up, Chronic if it’s present in most of your recent clips, Improving as it trends better, Fading as it appears less often, Cleaned up once it stops appearing, or Back again if a fixed pattern returns.

If something doesn’t look right

  • A finding’s loop looks like it’s missing the key part of the move: 4thCoach anchors moments using on-device pose tracking where it’s available; a clip with poor lighting or a player partly out of frame gives it less to work with.
  • A pattern isn’t showing up even though the same issue keeps happening: the free plan shows only your single top pattern in full, and only looks back over your most recent 10 clips — anything past that is real but stays hidden until you upgrade to 4thCoach+, which unlocks your full pattern list and clip history. (Separately, a pattern also needs repeat evidence to form at all — a single clip’s finding is real, but it takes a bit of history to confirm a pattern in the first place.)
